I had a dream last night... It was really creepy... I don't even know how I would rate it, it was certainly different than the ones I usually have... Will you listen to me? I shall tell you what happened...

In a forest... I was wondering around it to look for some wood, in order to have our village fire... Then... There was this cackle... It sounded like a small child's, coming from behind some of the trees. I turned and looked around. "Hello??? Is anyone there?" Walking in the direction of the laughter as it kept going, there was a small beam of light, over an old tree stump. Sat on top of it was this small person. They wore a blackish purple, moth eaten cloak over their back and a hood over their head. When I went to go closer, I stopped as they slowly turned their head to face me, a toothy grin cut along their face. "What are you doing here...? What brings you to this place...?" I gazed at them wide eyed, my words were stuttered in shock. "I-I've come to collect firewood... Why are you here...?" They giggled. "I was waiting for someone to play with me..." Backing away slowly, the small person stood up and went toward me. They only stood to the equivalent of an 8 year old compared to my body of age 23. They lifted their head and showed glowing white eyes, completely blank. "My name is Kyrimi... K-Y-R-I-M-I.." I blinked thrice before smiling. I looked up and down Kyrimis body, it was so frail and bony. I had a hard time telling their gender but I assumed it was a boy, since they wore shorts and a short sleeve. "I haven't seen anyone to play for a long time..." What was truly amazing is that their body was completely black also. "H-How old are you...?" I asked quietly, I was deeply curious of this small child, I even dropped my wood down gently. "I am 10! But really, I am over 2,050..." They then went even closer to me. Before I knew it, he jumped on me and held my mouth, stifling a gasp, all I did was gaze up at him in fear. "Play with me..." They covered my eyes also so all I could see was its cold, clammy black hand. I wriggled my legs before I felt even more heavy, I was sinking in the ground. . .

My eyes fluttered open, groaning, I found myself laying on grey grass, the trees, the sky... Everything was in grey scale... Except for the light. Kyrimi's laughter filled the air once more as I sat up, I felt around my back and a brow raised as there was another piece of cloth. It was red. The small child had put a red cloak over my back, it easily stands out from all of the discolor.  "Can we play now mister?" Looking up, Kyrimi sat on a tree branch, way up high. I shook my head and stumbled up into a run. "Oh yay! Chasey! I love this game!" They climbed down and sprinted for me, even jumping off the trees as a rebound, I was in desperate need to know what was going on. With this red cloak, there was going to be no way I could hide, I just had to run.... Kyrimi then appeared before me, making me skid to a stop and fall backward. "Got you!~" He then hugged my legs and rubs his head in them, innocently. "Wh-Where am I Kyrimi? What did you do!?" He giggled and swayed side to side. "This is my home... The land in between Heaven and Hell... I like to find people to play with, see where they go. The last one was a girl..." He then frowned. "She won the game... I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO WIN MY GAME!" Grabbing my shirt, he pressed his head against mine, showing me a memory of what happened to the girl. She had orange hair, wore a red dress which fitted well with the red cloak I had on. Her blue eyes were striking with fear as she ran through the forest. She reminded me of the character, Little Red Riding Hood, to be honest. Kyrimi was very close behind her, his hands outstretched to catch her, but she ran into a clear patch of the grey scale forest, all white. Kyrimi stayed back and hid in the dark, it cried tears of purple of losing the game, I noticed some of the trees fading away from his crying. Looking back up, Kyrimi laid on top of me and pinned my hands to my sides. "She was so stupid! Stupid parents, she wanted... BAH! All parents do is hold you back!" Getting up, he jumped in frustration, repeating the words "Stupid parents". I took this chance to stand, but I didn't run. I should've ran... Kyrimi went up to me, rage filled his black and empty face. "Stupid adults too! Know nothing!" He jumped up and hit me, making me fall back again but into a door. . .

I saw myself in a world full of colour, a relief to see the beauty of it again. As I looked around me, I saw I was on a small island, another was connected to it by an old wooden bridge. Below was all crystal blue water, matching the clear sky. To my left, there was a small block of rock with a green oak tree looming over it. To my right, there was a burning fire but it was calm, it just seemed to flicker. Gazing back in front of me, I fell backward in surprise as there was a woman standing in front of me. Her back was turned and her flowing orange hair swayed in the wind, along with her green dress. "Which way are you going to go...?" I blinked thrice and sat up, the woman spoke to me but didn't look at me. "Hmph... Then I guess I go alone then..." She then sprinted in front, going across the rickety old bridge of wood. I wanted to stop her as the ropes were splitting. "Hey! Watch out!" She didn't listen though, simply kept running. The bridge then broke, but she jumped atop small rock pillars, her skill of balance was amazing, especially been bare foot and wearing such a long dress. When she jumped off the last one and onto the small island to the North, she turned and grinned slyly, as if to say she was better than I. But I don't even know her. I stood shakily and looked in all directions. I didn't dare look South as I felt that was where Kyrimi's little forest was. A gulp caught in my throat and sweat dripping from my brow, I sprinted North, to where the woman was. I had almost fallen off of the pillars a couple of times but with a few swings of my arms, kept me from plunging in the water. Looking around the small lake, my eyes were wide as bodies were now seen stuck under the mud, one even had a hand held up, probably when they were trying to save them-self... When I reached the other side, I climbed up and leaned forward, huffing in exhaustion from all the running and jumping, I couldn't stop now. A sudden tug on my forearm, the woman lifted me from the ground and held me up, she had a readied bow against my neck. She was a wonder, all she did was gaze at me sternly whilst holding me still with one arm, the other holding the bow. Not daring to say anything, I merely swallowed dryly. She chuckled and let go. "You're not a chicken after all..." I blushed from her comment and gazed up. "I'm afraid it's time to say good-bye now... I must leave... You must too..." I went to protest but she grabbed me once more and kissed my cheek, before throwing me into the water. I didn't know what to do. I felt so heavy... As if everything that troubled me, every memory had sunk onto me, as the hands of the sunken dead clutched on my ripping clothes... Closing my eyes, I sunk further into the mud with the fallen, not knowing of what would become of me...

When I awoken that morning, my mother had a hold of my arm, shaking it desperately. My eyes shot open and I breathed quickly, tearing as I saw her. "M-Mum...?" She hugged me tightly, trying to calm me down. She said that I had shaken and yelled in my sleep, yelling for someone to let go of me. She tried everything to wake me up, she claimed, but nothing seemed to work. She even said she had to restrain me as I was covering my own mouth, at times, even hold my own throat. She was frightened, I could see it in her eyes, even though I was fine then. Mum never usually cried, this was the first time I have seen her do it for a while. I felt so... So... I don't know how to explain it. I was so torn from both the real world and the world of my own mind. What was it doing to me? Was it trying to tell me something? Was it trying to warn me? Was Kyrimi, the little girl, the beautiful maiden, the islands, the dead... All just... Signs? I guess I shall never know...

Until the time is right...
All based on a real dream experience. The darkness of 'subconsciousness', Kyrimi, the forest, the islands... Everything...
I hope you enjoyed, I haven't written any stories for a while.
